The Idaho Lives Project is pleased to announce that the application for the eighth cohort of the Sources of Strength program is now available: ILP Sources of Strength Application. Training will take place during the 2018 – 2019 school year. This is an opportunity to bring a positive, strength-based program to schools in your area.
Sources of Strength is a school-wide wellness program, carried out by representative peer leaders under the guidance of a few highly-connected adult advisors. While a major goal of the program is to reduce suicide and other self-defeating behaviors, it does much more by empowering young people to reach out to their peers, to learn that they have the strength to overcome tough challenges, to connect youth to trusted adults, and also to give youth a voice for positive change.
Additional information about the Sources of Strength program and how it can improve school climate and help youth follow a more positive path is available here: Sources of Strength Overview and Rationale.
We look forward to receiving your application. For help or questions, please contact Jennifer Dickey at jdickey@idaholives.org or Judy Gabert at jgabert@idaholives.org.
Best regards,
