Congratulations to Ron Berning for being selected for the 2013 Partnering for Stronger Communities Grant Program and the incredible opportunity to spend time in Malawi and to reconnect with Rosebill Satha, who was here in Idaho working with META for four months last fall/winter. Ron will be traveling to Africa May 20th through June 14th.
The Community Solutions Program (CSP) is a professional development program for the best and brightest global community leaders working in Transparency and Accountability; Tolerance and Conflict Resolution; Environmental Issues; and, Women and Gender Issues. In 2012, 58 global community leaders participated in the program.
The Partnering for Stronger Communities Grants Program is for Americans who served as Community Solutions Program host supervisor at their organization in 2012. This program provides funding for a member of the host organization to travel to their CSP leader’s home country and contribute to the leader’s follow-on community development project. The Partnering for Stronger Communities Grants Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and implemented by IREX. IREX is an international nonprofit providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally.
